More information about this house sitter

Hi there!

I'm Bonnie, a 46 year old woman who loves nature, animals, creativity ( writing, crafting, and - lately- learning a little about photography), reading, music, comedy ( I have an especial fondness for British comedy), and spending time with my brilliant, creative, daughter.

I've been planning to travel northwards, and after having several people suggest House Sitting to me lately as something to try whilst travelling, I thought it wouldn't hurt to join this site and give it a go!

Although, as mentioned above, my original plan is to make my way up north, I am still open to being in Victoria, Tasmania, South Aus, or NSW over the coming months ( because you know what they say: " Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans "!)

While I'm obviously quite new to sites and services such as the one we're both currently using, I have a lot of experience looking after various types of pets, having grown up on farms, and also having had pets my entire life. I've even been lucky enough to develop special bonds with friend's pets over the years, too. Whether they be cats, dogs, cows, budgies or goldfish, I firmly believe that pets make a house a home ( I also get a kick out of seeing birds and other wildlife in the garden). And for this reason, I am hoping to be able to find positions that do involve caring for pets. I am flexible, however.

I have minded houses and pets for family and friends over the years, but I acknowledge that minding a house and pet I'm not yet familiar with - for someone I've not met before -would be an entirely new experience ( and possibly a slightly daunting one, initially). But as a respectful, clean, and quiet person , I feel I'm up for the challenge!

At the moment I am hoping to find a house sitting position or two here in Melbourne as 2024 winds down, with the intention of securing some good house sitting references to help my chances of potential future house sitting opportunities as I travel northward in the near future.

IMPORTANT: I must add that I do not drive, so am reliant on public transport and my own two legs to get around. This means that I unfortunately cannot accept positions that are not within reasonable walking distance from either supermarkets/ post office, etc. OR buses/ trains/ trams that can get me to those places. ( I do love a good walk, so these things wouldn't have to be right on your doorstep or anything!) .
