More information about this house sitter

Cassie (38, originally from Australia, remedial massage therapist), Paul (33, American, glazier, mechanic, farmhand and general handy guy) here from Fairbanks, Alaska, with newborn baby Lindon (July 2024)!

We will be in Tasmania housesitting until September 2024 when we will move to flinders island for work.

We are very used to animal, gardens and farm chores - we have been living a homesteading style life here in Alaska for the last several years. We grow several garden beds, have raised rabbits, a pig, Paul's had goats, dogs (including helping train working dogs) and cared for horses, and Cassie grew up with a cat and fish. In Alaska, we have a spoiled little house bunny pet named Lucky who needs his regular snuggle time (on his terms ;) )

We will be renting out our house while we are in Australia for a couple years, and we will take as good care of your home as we hope tennants will of ours. Paul is a bit of a handyman so will notice and let you know promptly of anything wrong or concerning regarding the house. Cassie loves to garden or take care of indoor plants, and can hapilly have a fluffy animal on her lap for hours.

We will be carrying very minimal baby gear (they don't need much during the first 3 months, and I will floor sleep on my swag next to bub's bassinet mattress). We definitely want to expose kiddo to animal dander to help reduce lifelong allergies, so not worried at all about pets at home with kiddo! Baby will obviously never be left unsupervised around pets.

I hope you aren't put off by this, just think that we will definitely be at home more than your average housesitter while we take this time to bond as a family :)
