We are a retired couple who have lived at Emerald Beach (Coffs Harbour Region) for 28 years and live in our own home on 1 hectare. We do not have children, our last dog Jessie was a Doberman who was like a child to us but sadly passed away several years ago. Jessie was not replaced as we have done a lot of overseas travel in recent years and did not want to put our dog in a kennel when on extended trips. We know how that feels and hated it, but not everyone wants to look after a large dog – especially a Doberman.
Our dogs have always been a big part of our family and we love dogs of all shapes and sizes. Graeme and I both grew up surrounded by dogs & cats but have not been able to have a cat due to the abundance of birds and small wildlife on our property.
We have looked after pets, mostly dogs for friends and family. Housesitting is new for us but as we will be selling our own home next year it will give us an opportunity to explore new places where we might possibly live in the future.
You could describe us as in our later years but living on such a large property we are reasonably active, fit & healthy and our covid/flu vaccinations are up to date.
Graeme is a good handyman and plays social golf, I belong to a women’s group in Coffs Harbour who walk most Fridays and I sometimes enjoy a game of croquet. Being keen gardeners we maintain our own property, are very house proud and would be delighted to look after your furry friend(s) and home.
