More information about this house sitter

I am a single, mature-aged female (non-smoker) who is semi-retired with work that is very flexible. I have travelled extensively overseas but thought I would like to explore our country further. I would like to try this through housesitting. I thought that short periods (no longer than 7 days) initially would provide me with a sense of whether this is something I would like. I’m also a dog lover and would love to combine the housesit with caring for a dog. As I have never done housesitting before (other than for family), I hope to build up some credibility through short stays. I live in Brisbane north and am looking for opportunities within an hour’s drive, (approximately) from my home. I recently had a police check to become a member of a Community Visitors Scheme but would be happy to apply for another one if that is preferred. I also hold both a Blue Card and a Yellow Card.
As I am looking for places which are close to my home, I would be happy to visit anyone at their home prior to the housesit if this would make people more comfortable. I look forward to some house and dog sit opportunities.
