We are a fit, active and healthy retired couple who have recently relocated to Victoria from Eumundi on the Sunshine Coast, to be closer to, and provide family support, to our daughter and her husband and our two grandchildren. How they survived the rigours of the extended lockdowns throughout the Covid pandemic, we will never know. For our part, we are certainly not missing Queensland's humidity and really enjoying the daylight saving.
The sale of our small business and subsequent retirement made the move possible and we are now spending twelve months house sitting around Victoria, searching for a place we would like to settle. Our family lives bayside in Highett and whilst we don't want to be living around the corner, we would like to be within an hour of them.
Prior to the move, we were volunteers in the local community of Cooroy, Irene at an aged care facility and Chris with the Chamber of Commerce, three years of which were as president.
Having sat a variety of properties, and pets, on the Sunshine Coast, and more recently around Victoria, we consider ourselves to be experienced house sitters.
We also consider ourselves to be lovers of all creatures great and small! To date, we have looked after dogs, cats, chickens and fish! For thirteen years, when we lived in Brisbane, we enjoyed the companionship of our golden retriever, Deek, and for the seniors out there, yes, he was named after Robert De Castella! Read more...
