More information about this house sitter

Hi and welcome to our profile. The following is an introduction to us with a list of the housesitting jobs we have done over the years through this and other housesitting sites.
We are a couple living in Adelaide who are offering our services in and around Adelaide (and the Fleurier Peninsula in school holidays) as we both work here. Tina is an ESL English lecturer working for TAFESA and Jason works for the Salvation Army. Our work lands on different days therefore one of us will be at your home most of the time. We are devoted animal lovers and have cared for many different types in different situations. We offer love, care and a lot of pats and hugs while respecting any special requests or rituals that would make your pet(s) feel comfortable and make life feel normal. We have a knack of talking to, listening to and observing the animals in our care and often get asked back.
We have also cared for large gardens, indoor plants, bird aviaries, farms and farm animals.
HOUSE SITTING EXPERIENCE:

53 - 14th November - 1st December REGULAR Unley
52 - 4th - 27th September - Hyde Park with 2 golden retrievers.
52 - 17th August - 2nd December REGULAR Unley
51 - 20th July - 5th August REGULAR Unley
50 - 5th - 19th July - Kangaroo Island (1 big beautiful black cat and 4 chickens). We left a day early due to a storm coming in and Sealink stopping for 2 days. It was a fast departure because we had to start our regular house sit in Unley, therefore the usual 5 star clean was not possible.
49 - May/June - Two months in Henley Beach walking a black labrador on the beach. We absolutely fell in love with him.
48- May in Stirling with two frolicking Scotties, six chooks and two fish. A lovely week.
47 - April - Hindmarsh Island with the pelicans and the swans.
46 - March and beginning of April off to our REGULAR at Unley again with Reggie.
45 - March - Spent three days in Prospect with a beautiful rescue dog who was shy but soon warmed up.
44 2024 - The end of January, February and the beginning of March in Millswood with a very frisky puppy and her older sister. They were full-on but supremely loveable on the cuteness scale!
2023
43 - December and January in a REGULAR at Woodville with a lovely cat and fish.
42- October -A 2 week stay at a REGULAR on Hindmarsh Island. Then 2 weeks at Stepney. Then over to another REGULAR in Unley again.
41 - From August until November 2nd we have been booked 3 times by our REGULAR in Unley.
40- July/August - Unley with Reggie
39 - June to August - Skye with little Maltese pup, Alfie. This was an extended stay due to unforeseen circumstances in Europe for the house owners. We were happy to do it and took Alfie to Unley for a week. The dogs got along well and were charming together.
38- April - Wistow - Missy and the chickens and roosters
37- Feb. - Para Hills with 2 German shepherds and 217 pigeons! Yes, true story!
36- January - Hindmarsh Island with the swans and pelicans.

32. January - At Burnside with the most beautiful 9 month old puppy one will ever meet and an elderly cat who is not impressed with the puppy at all. What a stay! Tears when we left lol.
31. Went out to Hindmarsh Island again.
2021 -
30. November - back to one of our regulars in Unley with Reggie the spaniel and his fun and games.
29. October - A large house in Norwood with two character dogs and two cats who preferred their own space until it was time for food and pats

25. July / August - We have been in Blackwood again with the dogs, bunny and chooks and Unley where we had the pleasure of Reggie the charming Cocker Spaniel...but this was cut short due to boarders closing and the world as it is. We have been so lucky really to have continued house sits.
24. July in Pt. Elliot with big fluffy the house cat. Then over to Hindmarsh island for a bit of garden work.
23. April - We were in Paradise until the 18th of April with a cute little poodle and a large garden.

17. November 2020 we were at Wistow caring for an elderly cat, 9 chooks, and 2 roosters. It became an extended stay due to the fact that they couldn't return because of car difficulties. They have written a lovely review for us and it is attached.
16. October 2020 we were in Semaphore Park caring for a lovely border collie, 5 chooks and 2 cats.
15. September 2020 we had a housesit at one of our regular housesits in Bowden where we maintain a large fish pond and the surrounding Japanese garden.
14. Prior to that we had an extended stay at Pt Elliot where we maintained a garden during lockdown and working from my laptop in their kitchen!
13. We were in Bowden in our regular sit in March as well. They had to put their dog down which was a very sad visit but we still maintained the necessary requirements.
12. February 2020 we were in Windsor Gardens caring for an elderly Chihuahua and a large garden.
11. In January we house sat for a work colleague of Tina's maintaining a large native garden through a heat wave.
2019 -
10. December - We looked after 2 very cute cats who loved us (but hated each other lol) and a big fruit and vegetable garden in Torrensville.
9. We also maintained a lovely garden in Glynde through the heat and fed a gorgeous little tabby.
8. November - We looked after a 1 year old staffy puppy and his older brother, a 14 year old crippled maltese in Blackwood. Also in the house was a beautiful fluffy cat and two singing budgies.
7. October - We cared for a very cute, small maltese and a very curious tabby in Maylands while the owners were os. The small dog was walked to her favourite park every afternoon and they were both a delight to look after.
6. September - We sat two beautiful Labradors in Colonel Light Gardens. They were walked quite long distances in the afternoons and diet instructions were maintained. We maintained all gardens, cut the lawns, put out bins and collected mail. Our references from all houses are excellent.

4. We have also had on going house sitting for a man living in Marino Rocks who travels internationally.
3. In July we were in Black Forest with a gentle ginger cat who loved hours of lap time.

1. Our combined house sitting experience, including family, friends and ongoing jobs spans over 20 years. All of our clients have been very pleased with the cleanliness of their houses upon returning because we spend the last day giving houses a thorough spring clean as Tina is an ex professional cleaner. We look forward to meeting you.

Michael:
Dear home owner,
Tina has asked me to give her a house-sitting reference and I am without hesitation.
I am a regular, avid national and international traveller and since Tina's first house sit for me in 2009 I have felt comfortable that my house was well taken care of every time I travel.
I have a large tropical garden which I take pride in and upon every return Tina has maintained it beautifully.
During her early stays my old cat, Rupert, was sick and needed daily medication which Tina administered. Also, Rupert was incontinent and unfortunately there were times when she had to clean messes. Upon my return the house was always clean and tidy.
I also own tropical and gold fish and they were well taken care of and fed the requested daily diet.
I would recommend Tina to any home owner and knowing Jason, I would recommend him for any house-sitting situation also.
I wish them all the best for their future house-sitting assignments together.
Yours sincerely
Michael Mc Kenzie

To Whom This May Concern,
I am pleased to give a house-sitting reference to Tina Barry and Jason Oats. They looked after my house over the 2019 Christmas period while I was away with my family.
During this time there was a heat wave and I have a garden that needed a lot of care. When I returned the garden looked green and healthy in spite of the harsh weather. I also noticed my ceiling vents had been cleaned which was an unexpected service in addition to the whole house being clean and tidy. They had also used their own bedding and had re-made my bed so I could have the first night back in clean sheets.
I would recommend them to any house owners wishing to have reliable and tidy sitters.
Yours sincerely

Re: Tina and Jason
December 2020
To whom it may concern
I would highly recommend Tina and Jason as house sitters. Our experience with them was our first at having strangers in our home. They quickly eased our minds by acknowledging our concerns, answering all questions, and adding relevant information as experienced sitters.
We went off happily on our planned 2 week trip. Due to car problems we were delayed another 2 weeks. Tina immediately eased our stress levels by agreeing to stay as long as we needed - such a relief for us! During the extra time they dealt with some unexpected issues at our house with ease and again relieving our stress levels.
We came home to a lovely clean house, very happy elderly cat, well fed chooks and watered garden. Couldn't have asked for anything else.
We have already made a tentative booking for a longer trip next year.
We are most happy to be contacted to provide further information if required.
Regards
Gaye and Chris
