More information about this house sitter

We are Nat and Phil, a non-smoking, multi home owning and fit couple over 50. I am the CEO of a not-for-profit healthcare organisation (a nurse by background) and have the privilege of being able to mostly work from home. My hubby of 28 years is a semi-retired teacher.

We own our four properties but are in the season of our lives where we wish to explore outside our roots of Melbourne and rural Victoria.

MORE ON US...
I am a work-from-home CEO of a healthcare not-for-profit and a nurse by background, and I have received an OAM for my contributions to the community. I do love my work, and being able to do it from home (or anywhere in the world) is wonderful.

My handy husband of 28 years is semi-retired from teaching (recently began relief teaching) and is an artist. He is very good with all things garden, maintenance, and mowing and loves to keep busy outside while I work away quietly inside!

We are meticulous homeowners, understand the care and attention all homes demand and appreciate the nuances of maintaining house plants, gardens and precious pets. We have our own vegetable gardens, orchards, manicured lawns and house plants, so we fully appreciate what plants and gardens need to thrive.

Our current main residence spans 60 acres in the picturesque landscapes of coastal Victoria. We've cultivated a self-sufficient ecosystem for our pets, livestock, cherished chickens, and the local wildlife we regard as extended family. The adjacency of our family ensures our property and animals remain in trusted hands during our frequent travel. We love dogs, cats, chickens, birds, horses, goats, sheep - actually, it would just be simpler to list what animals I don't like... mice, but okay with snakes.

Together, Phil and I bring approachability, dependability, ethical standards, and conscientiousness to our roles as house-sitters. We are both practical, honest, and compassionate, with high levels of personal integrity.

OUR HOUSESITTING PHILOSOPHY...
Our approach to housesitting is founded on trust, honesty, communication, and a deep respect for your home and animal companions. We will initiate our potential house-sitting engagements with either an in-person visit or a virtual introduction via Zoom or Microsoft Teams to establish that we are the right fit for each other.

Phil and I will seamlessly adapt to your departure preferences, whether that involves a direct handover in your home, staying overnight for a thorough briefing, or, alternatively, retrieving the keys from a designated secure location at your convenience.

As temporary guardians of your pets and/or livestock, we will embrace them into our fold with the same devotion and care they receive from you. This includes adhering to their routines and managing any medical needs, such as administering medication, helped by my nursing background.

We will respect your household rules and, as such, would appreciate clear instructions regarding pet boundaries within the home.

We will provide updates with photographs and stories to keep you connected, ensuring you remain informed and reassured during your absence.

Your home's sanctity, security and privacy are of utmost importance to us. We uphold a policy of transparency and accountability. In the event of any accidental damage, we will inform you and communicate on the best resolution such as replacement or pay for any mishaps and will prioritise a solution focus that is amenable to both parties.

Our promise extends to household provisions; we provide our own items, but if there are any items we use from your pantry, these will be replenished ie flour, herbs etc. If any pet supplies are needed, these will be purchased in discussion with the owner, and receipts will be kept.

To ensure a comprehensive understanding of your home's operational aspects, we request information on essential services and contacts, including your veterinarian, electrician, and plumber, alongside details regarding your property's maintenance systems such as the location of the fuse box, garbage collection schedules, and specific appliance instructions.

Phil's horticultural acumen and proficiency with garden maintenance equip us to cater to your garden's needs, for which we only require your guidance on preferences and care routines.

If our philosophy aligns with your expectations and you envisage us as your ideal house sitters, we invite you to contact us as we are keen to discuss the possibility of caring for your home and pets and honouring the trust you place in us.

Yours faithfully,
Nat & Phil
