I am an experienced house and pet sitter that enjoys taking care of pets and seeing new places. I enjoy the opportunity and friendships that house sitting brings. I don’t have my own pets so I really enjoy spending time with the animals while house sitting. I am a trustworthy, responsible, clean and non-smoking American born/Irish, raised in South Africa. male (28). I have a lot of house and pet sitting experience. I am reliable, practical, and easy to get along with. Your pets and home will be extremely well looked after by a capable person. I am a serious house sitter.

I grew up on a farm in South Africa and am no stranger to house and land upkeep and animal care. I am currently studying an online course which allows for great flexibility. This is part of why I have decided to do house sitting. The other reason is that I really enjoy it! I enjoy the variety of living in new places and meeting new and interesting people. House sitting provides an enjoyable and adventurous lifestyle for me.
I have my own car and am independent in my style of living.

Pets I have looked after:
I go above and beyond with pet care. I love all types of animals and have looked after almost everything you could find in a backyard. This includes dogs, cats and parrots, pigs, lizards, snakes, horses, Goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, geese, peacocks and even a Scorpion! I do my best to not disrupt your pet’s routines so I feed them and walk them as close as possible to the same time that you do. I am happy to spend extra time with needy animals that get upset when their owners are away. I also can administer medicines, worming tablets if need be. Any special dietary requirements are catered for and an extra walk or games no problem at all. In the case of an emergency, I will contact you and drive your pet immediately to your preferred vet.

I have looked after many rescue animals and understand they can sometimes need extra time and affection. A large portion of animals cared for on our farm were rescued or previously homeless.

Types of houses I have looked after:
I have experience looking after large multi storey homes with extensive gardens and pools, houses on acreage, normal size family homes and small apartments.

Extra things I can do:
If you like I am happy to send you email or text updates on the house and pets so that you know everything is OK and see how your furry or scaly friends are going.
Clean the pool if you have one.
Mow the lawn and water the gardens.
I will collect the mail every day and If you like I can forward you any important mail via email if you need me too.
Put out/bring in the garbage bins
Start car if needed to prevent battery going flat (please note I have my own car and would not drive yours).
I leave the house fully cleaned before you come back so that you arrive to a fresh tidy home.
I can also pick up some groceries before you come home so you can take it easy when you arrive.

A quick note
I also prefer that we have a written agreement that outlines my duties with detailed instructions, vet contact, trusted person or family member contact (if you are overseas), authority to be in the house while your away (Id like it if the neighbours don’t think I am squatting in your house!) and any other things that may be needed to be carried out around the house.
