About this house sitting position in BLACKHEATH

I have a country style weatherboard home with sunny decks, gardens a fireplace and central heating and a 11 yo labrador called Mack.

We have many caring neighbours but my dog loves people and company, and needs daily walks morning and afternoon. Mack is fed just once a day however his diet must be monitored because labs are always seeking food and I do not want him to put on weight while Im away.

Home is a lovely 20 minute walk to town centre where there are many cafes and art galleries supermarket and bars. Mack and I regularly do this walk together in the morning to collect the newspaper, groceries etc. There are several off lead areas for my big dog to run untethered however it’s necessary to drive a short distance to these spots so you’ll need a car in which to carry mack. He has a sling ti fit your over headrests and keep the car clean.

The train to Sydney from town centre takes approximately 2.5 hours. However unless Mack has a carer, that is not recommended as he will jump around inside the house for at least 6 hrs with anxiety. So I need a minder who is happy to stay local or leaves a partner with Mack.

Blackheath is known for its beautiful escarpments and mountain walks, some of which are dog friendly although not national parks. Many gardens (Rhododendren Gardens Blackheath, Mayfield Garden Oberon) are dog friendly too.

Blackheath can be quite cold any time of year. You must be able to take Mack for his daily walks DESPITE the weather.

I am looking for dog lover who is fit and firm enough to handle Mack who will not run away but often wants to suit himself.
I require a clean responsible non smoking person/couple who will care for my home and my best buddy to housesit for 8 weeks in this lovely part of regional NSW. Read more...
