About this house sitting position in JUNG
A very warm welcome to our charming 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom yellow cottage. It's set on half an acre in the spectacularly beautiful Wimmera in country Victoria. With our 7 year old dog Denver, my partner and I moved here 18 months ago from the hustle and bustle of Sydney and are really loving the tree change. It's one of those things where we wish we had done it sooner. We love it!
We live in a very small town off the highway called Jung. It's very quiet and peaceful and residents keep to themselves. Randomly, we have a railway line through our town as it used to be for wheat transportation, and is now used for freight and passenger trains. Some days there are 3 or 4 trains and other days there are none. Trust me, you get used to them.
We have one neighbour on one side and on the other side are wheatfields as far as the eye can see. It's a really beautiful scene to wake up to and go to bed to. Even standing at the bathroom window you get to see the changing light over the wheatfields as the sun rises in the morning. Out the front windows you get to witness the gorgeous sunsets which are breathtaking. I can't tell you how many photo's I have taken of them. At night you can see every single star in the sky for miles and its stunning. You can't do that in the city!
On my front verandah I have quite a few pot plants. They will need watering. Also we'd need you to put the sprinkler on the grass every few days.
Unfortunately, we have no amenities or public transport in our town so you will need your own transportation. We do have markets at the end of every month which are always good. And down the highway 8 minutes away is a town, a few shops and a lake where you can go for supplies or the other way is a very big town 20 minutes away where I work. They have lots of shops, amenities, pubs, a river, nighttime markets, and water activities. They have everything you need.
There are plenty of places to go exploring in the area. We are close by to the amazing Grampians which are great to visit. Hall's Gap is very picturesque and Mt Arapiles is a must see too. There is the Silo Art Trail which takes you to all the different painted silo's which are awe-inspiring. Little Desert National Park nearby is well worth a visit - it has things like hiking, 4WDing, bushwalking and bird watching to name a few.
Now a bit about our pets. Denver is a 7 year old mixed breed dog who is more of a companion dog. He's beside my partner (who is retired) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. He's very loyal, fun, sometimes energetic, loving, a great snuggler, and a great mate to have around. He loves going to Bunnings and sitting in the trolley - he's the unofficial mascot of Horsham Bunnings and they give him treats every visit. He loves swimming in the lake and rivers and he really really loves chasing the ball. He'll be your best friend and companion in the first 5 minutes of meeting him. He sleeps on our bed and when he's cold he'll crawl under the covers. He's just happy to be near you. You're going to love him. He's going to miss us terribly so will need alot of reassurance from you - and lots of affection. He has one meal a day and can have doggy treats.
Our other pets are 3 chickens named Penelope, Portia and Prudence Featherington. They're the cutest chickens ever and usually give us 3 delicious eggs a day. They need feeding every morning and their water checked and changed when needed. Also once a week they need new straw.
We are going to Europe and America for our holiday. We are getting married in Hawaii at the end of our trip. It's very exciting and we can't wait!
We really need a wonderful pet lover who can sit for us. We need someone who will preferably be working from home so you can be with Denver most of the time. As I previously mentioned he will really miss us and needs to have company to keep his mind off us. If you have a dog you travel with we'd love to have you here. He loves other dogs and would love to spend time with them.
We'd love to pen someone in as soon as possible so we can concentrate on finalising our trip and our wedding plans. So please if you are interested in staying here in our heavenly paradise please message us.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Kind regards
Belinda and Geoff Read more...
