About this house sitting position in Sunrise Beach
*** Please read our full request for house sitting opportunity below. We have a severely reactive dog. If you are interested in sitting, please describe your previous experience with reactive dogs ***
Our home is walking distance from the beach and a short bike ride or drive to everything Noosa has to offer. Our house is comfortable and private; fully fenced with a yard and pool. The maintenance required around the house, yard and pool is very minimal. The bulk of the requirements is related to our dogs.
We have two dogs, a 3,5 year old beagle Frankie and a 7 year old rescue dog Patch (mixed breed, 27kg). Patch is severely reactive to other dogs (that he is not familiar with) and can become aggressive to other dogs if they approached him suddenly during walks.
Patch is also very unpredictable around humans he does not know and needs to be approached carefully. He does not get aggressive with humans as he does with dogs, but because of his fear-based reactivity we require a house sitter who is familiar with dog behaviour, can read a dog’s body language and is confident in handling a potential dog-to-dog confrontation when out on walks. Once Patch knows you, he is the most beautiful dog and you will enjoy many cuddles, kisses and love from him.
Frankie loves the beach, long walks or runs. She is an energetic dog who needs exercise every day. She is 3,5 so she’s out of her “naughty” years, but may chew on something if she is bored, so she needs her walks. She is generally well behaved, but to avoid disappointment we keep shoes and other “chewables” out of her reach.
The dogs get along together, they play a lot, however when they need to be walked, we often do that separately due to Patch’s reactivity. Patch is a relatively low-energy dog and does not need nearly as much exercise as Frankie. We tend to walk Patch on-lead (always) in a quiet area and we exercise Frankie at the beach or the dog park where she can run and socialise. Or we take them together on long walks early in the morning.
We would require house sitters who have the confidence to handle a dog like Patch, who have the ability to exercise Frankie and who are home for the majority of the day. Because one of us works from home the dogs are usually not home alone for longer than 4-6 hours.
We require a single house sitter over a period in Feb/Mar 2025. Due to the nature of Patch’s behaviour we unfortunately can’t allow our house sitter to bring their own dog. We also prefer a single person over a couple.
To make sure Patch warms to our house sitter, we would like to request for them to stay with us a couple days before we leave. We understand this is not a common request, but we think it is best for building the connection with him. You will have your own room and your own bathroom.
- No drugs
- Outside smoking only
- No parties
- No kids (because of Patch)
- You can park on the drive way inside the gate
- Room for a van/trailer
- Female preferred (this is purely because Patch warms to females easier than to males)

Reviews for Lotti
Their home was like a palace and a pleasure to look after and maintain.
Frankie is a little darling and I loved taking her to the beach, doggie park and out for coffee or just a ride in the car or a walk around the burbs.
The pool was a blessing and the Sunny Coast although not so sunny was lovely.
I was welcomed back and wouldn't hesitate if possible.
Thanks again for the opportunity, Lottie and Mick.
Blessings
