More information about this house sitter
Hello,
my name is Ares. First thing is first - I charge a fee for all house - sits, especially long stays. I have had too many clients who make unreasonable demands and do not seem to understand that if I am giving someone my FREE time. If it is a paid sit I will look after your pets well and do everything that they need ( all references can attest to that ) and obvious things such as cleaning up after myself, but if you're not willing to pay then I don't take on extra duties ( mowing, gardening, taking out bins etc ). I live locally in Northside Brisbane and I own my own house so I have no need of accommodation/power hence I don't do this due to a nomadic lifestyle.
I may still apply for your sit however if we progress to a meet and greet then I will ask if you are open to payment. If not that is totally fine, but I cannot accept the sit if so. I have a certificate II and III in Animal Care, I am in my last year of my Vet Sciences degree at uni and I work every sit around my uni schedule, not the other way around which is another reason that I ask for payment. I have my own pet - sitting business that I run independently ( off of Mindahome and PetCloud) and I have built working relationships with long - term clients, but I am not in a position to offer my time free of charge. My rate is $40 per night per animal, or if you require a sit in which you would like me to be at the house 24/7/majority of the day I charge $50 per night.
I am open to means of payment, just shoot me a msg. I am real easy going and happy to have a chat to organize a payment plan or a deposit at the commencement of the booking if needed. For short house - sits I am willing to negotiate fees, but long house sits are paid. I charge a fee for my time, my experience which is varied with all different types of animals not just domestic. I have worked over 15yrs in Animal Care now at equine/racing stables as a stablehand and a riding instructor, I have years of working in boarding facilities and kennels behind me, volunteered at Farm Animal Rescue, ( 12 months ) where I was a live - in animal carer working with cattle, calves, chickens, goats, hens, pigs, roosters, and sheep, I volunteered at RSPCA Wacol campus, ( 3 years ) and Deathrow Unchained Animal Rescue ( 8 months ) and as mentioned I am in my last year of vet science with a Cert II and III in Animal Care hence paying for my expertise/knowledge. I have had people request for me to take on a sit free of charge and I am happy to do so for a few days, but please don't ask for longer than that. I think that my time and my knowledge is worth more, I have never had anything go wrong during any of my sits and I have the references/reviews from former and now ongoing clients to show for that so I will not do longer pet - sits for free.
2) if possible I will request if I can bring my dog, she is a 1yo black Labrador Retriever, very playful of course but she has been well socialised around other dogs, we live with 1 other dog at home so she is used to them. I understand if it is not possible to bring her, however in that case I don't take on extended, longer sits. She can stay at home for short bookings, but I prefer to have her for longer bookings as she does not cope well when I am away for too long. To have her with me I am willing to offer a reduced fee.
I also use PetCloud and I have acquired many regular clients who book with me frequently so keep in mind if I have someone who wants to make a booking with me for the same dates that may overlap with another potential sit on Mindahome, I will accept whichever one is willing to pay, especially because house -sits take me away from my own dog who stays at home or sometimes people want their pets looked after from either their own home or at my place, I offer both however pet - sitting in my home is preferred. I work from home, as mentioned I am a Vet Sciences student, mostly online but I do have the occasional classes on campus ( only 2 classes a week ).
I have experience working with elderly animals, sick animals, animals that require meds. I can administer orally or I have experience with injections/needle shots, intravenous/intramuscular/subcutaneous application, I have worked with animals with special needs, rescue animals both domestic and farm animals such as cats, dogs, horses, pocket pets, etc I can do them all. As mentioned I have years of experience working as a stablehand in Sydney and Brisbane, grew up on my Grandparents equine farm in NZ so I am confident and comfortable with horses, including riding
As previously stated I volunteered at a place called Deathrow Unchained Animal Rescue in Burbank, volunteered at RSPCA Wacol with the cats, dogs, pocket pets, ( guinea pigs, mice, rats etc ) farmyard animals, birds, and the wildlife at their Wildlife Hospital.
As such I am confident to house - sit/pet - sit your animal babies! I have looked after axolotls, turtles, snakes, geckos, large breed dogs ( Rottweilers, Great Danes, Dobermans, Cane Corsos, Bull Arabs, Bullmastiff etc ) as well as small breed dogs and cats.
Contact me for a police reference, references.
Thanks for your time,
Ares. Read more...
