Hello!
I'm Jess, an part-time Electronics Engineering student. I will be traveling to Canberra between June - September to spend some time with my sister and friends.

I live in now Tasmania but I'm originally are from a small horse and cattle farm in rural south west Australia. I'm a nature lover and very active. Some of my hobbies include rockclimbing, hiking, horse riding and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

I grew up in a small coastal town called Denmark, on a small-scale farm where we bred and raised cattle and Australian Stock horses. In the past we have also farmed sheep. I have always had a lot of pets, including goats, chickens, ducks, a small invasion of guinea pigs, and of course dogs and cats. I have a lot of experience house and farm sitting for family friends. I'm a very hard working, level headed and responsible person who takes the responsibility of caring for someone's home and pets very seriously. I also have experience caring for wildlife and working at vet clinics as a casual vet nurse.

Animal Experience:
- I have fostered a ex-greyhound, straight from the racing kennel so has experience dealing with timid/nervous animals.
- I volunteered at Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre in Perth, Australia where I looked after numerous sick/injured birds, reptiles and mammals. This involved preparing their feed, moving animals and cleaning the cages to a very high degree of cleanliness.
- I have often house sat for a family with a dog requiring medication 2x daily.
- Our family has 2 Irish Wolfhounds so I am very used to (and love) large dogs.
- I am very experienced horse riders and have extensive experience handling young/green horses, as well as stallions.

My mum is a horticulturist and avid gardener so because of this I have picked up many gardening skills from her and love being outside in the garden. Read more...
