Hi, I'm Victoria (24) from Munich, Germany. I currently study Marine Sciences in Milan, Italy and I will be in Melbourne from August 22 until September 25 to visit my boyfriend, who is doing an exchange year there!
Since I can't stay at his place the whole time, I was looking for alternatives. Getting a free place to stay AND taking care of cats and/or dogs at the same time sounds like a dream to me!
Growing up we never had our own dog or cat, so I had to find alternative ways! I often looked after friends dogs, when they went on holiday or fed their cats. Last year I also did an internship in Greece, where we had 4 cats at the accomodation. Obviously I directly volunteered to take care of them! We also took in some baby strays, that were abandoned by their mother :( They were so young that we had to feed them milk. After a few nights of getting up every two hours, we managed to transport them to a bigger island where a cat shelter took care of them.
Apart from these experiences and my love for animals, I am a really reliable person. I am clean and I know how to respect other people's things. Next to university I am working remotely as a social media consultant. To finance my stay in Melbourne I will be working around 30 hours a week at this position, which also means I will stay home most of the time. Read more...
