Hi we are the Kemps, Peter and Karen a mature married couple, who after 11 years living on and loving a beautiful 10 acre hillside bush property in the Sunshine Coast hinterland we now find that we have to consider options. Our landlord wished to resume occupancy of the premises and so we had to relocate by 31/03/22, Having been priced out of the Sunshine Coast market and not wanting to go to the city, or move to a tiny granny flat, we are choosing to use this time to explore where we may want to settle more permanently. Peter works for himself as an IT consultant and so some of his work can be done remotely. When not working he enjoys quiet pursuits such as Sudoku and jigsaw puzzles and jaunts in the countryside and nature photography. Karen helped with admin in the business and had been busy helping our daughter by taking care of her children whilst she worked or taking some shifts in her business. Karen loves to garden and be outside in nature, or to pursue one of her arty hobbies.
Our house sitting experience commenced in April 2022 and so far is limited to properties in QLD and NSW but would love to travel further afield in the future. Currently we are mostly booked out till October 2024 as shown in our availability calendar.
We loved our home at Hunchy and took care of the property for many years as if it were our own, for which our landlord was extremely appreciative (reference can be provided). I say this not to brag but to show that we are extremely reliable and trustworthy people. Karen has a upto date QLD Blue Card (working with children - police check required) and Peter is a licensed shooter updated 2021. If that isn't sufficient for police checks then let us know what you require.
We are both non smokers. Peter is a teetotaller and Karen enjoys a glass of wine with friends on special occasions. We enjoy a quiet life but like to spend time with family including 10 grandchildren (usually not all at once).
Living on acreage for many years means we are familiar with rainwater tanks, pumps and onsite waste management system. We have some experience with ride on lawn mowers.
