Hello! I have house sat three times in 2022, and am looking for new house sits in 2023!

I have owned my own home for 15+ years and rented for 20+ years. I am a 64yo Australian citizen who has lived in Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney. I am currently visiting in Alaska for several years with my wife and one of our daughters, where I stay for about 10 months of the year. Under my US visa conditions, I need to return to Oz every year for a couple of months.

So this year, I’m looking for some house-sitting positions for a week to a few weeks from around late August to around the end of September in the Sydney-Canberra area. I have been a fur-daddy to cats, dogs and tropical fish all my life. I am quiet and clean, a non-smoker in excellent health, and enjoy gardening, reading, walking and translating Chinese. I am just retired from the Australian Public Service, having been in that career for 30 years, both in Canberra and Sydney, and am negative vetted at Level 1 by the Australian Government (ie I have no criminal record etc).

Given these experiences, I am a responsible and trustworthy house-sitter, with good judgement and reliability, and am thrilled to mind your fur-babies as well! I would be housesitting as a single person, as my wife, who is a nurse, needs to remain in Alaska. I will also be without my own fur-babies when house-sitting your home. I will keep your house clean and tidy, and any pets and gardens well cared for.
