More information about this house sitter

Hi all, my name is Alisha and I'm putting out some feelers for long-term house and pet sits around eastern Aus.

I began house sitting in early 2022 as a way to live independently while healing from chronic illness, and my vitality has returned in leaps and bounds! I attribute this mostly to the happiness of my spirit, which has always thrived on travel, exploration, and in the company of animals.

I've looked after extensive gardens on the NSW far south coast, cared for many different dogs, and jumped around from suburb to suburb in Sydney, ensuring the lights were kept on and the houses remained in order while their owners were away.

I grew up on a hobby farm in rural NSW, so I've been surrounded by animals my entire life. We have had so many beautiful dogs, birds, chickens, ducks, cattle, sheep, goats, alpacas, fish, rabbits...the list goes on. I have no issue sticking to pets' routines, administering medication, or caring for anxious doggies. Looking after animals just comes naturally to me.

Although I'm relatively young, I'm extremely responsible and certainly not the party type (I'd rather stay home with hot chocolate and read poetry). I actually moved out of home when I was 17 years old, so I'm very independent, a great critical thinker, and take great pride in maintaining a beautiful space.

I also love gardening and have a bit of a green thumb, so it would be no issue to do some light weeding, watering, or keep any indoor plants alive and thriving.

A few little things that would make your home a good fit for me:

– reliable wifi to work from home
– no cats, sorry! I love them but am allergic
– length is 3+ weeks
– access to a car if there is no public transport close by
– no strenuous physical tasks, such as lawn mowing

I have a recent police check for your peace of mind, and also plenty of references, if you'd like any mobile numbers or emails to contact previous happy home owners.

Because it's a big deal to entrust your home (and potentially pets) into the care of a stranger, let me share a few more things about me:

– I'm a widely published, award-winning poet in the Aus literary scene, and have almost finished my first book!

– I love travel and can't wait until my health allows me to return to Spain (I've been learning Spanish for several years).

– There's nothing I love more than being surrounded by nature. Beaches, lakes, forests, the middle of the bush.

– I'm an avid baker and cook.

If your home is available or your pets need some lovings, or if you know of any opportunities coming up, please reach out! I’d love to get in touch ❤️
