More information about this house sitter

We are a family of four ,two children aged 4 & 8, both of our children are extremely respectful of nature and animals which has been instilled into them.

We are travelling around Australia for 1- 2 years currently heading out in our 22ft caravan,home schooling and seeing this beautiful country ....we set off from the Sunshine Coast in Feb 2023

**Please note that we will require somewhere to park our 22ft caravan.**

Im a registered midwife with Ahpra, I’ve been a mw for over 23 yrs,also a qualified health visitor (like a public health nurse in Oz )
My husband worked in finance & revenue dept , and security dept at a local hospital.Previously when we lived in Ipswich when we first came to Australia for two years, he was a bicycle mechanic in Brisbane,before we moved to the Sunny Coast.

In the UK my husband was a prison officer ,and senior instructor,Senior Staff Sergent in the British Army for 22yrs, he also was a synchronised swimming coach teaching the Yorkshire Swans, so is aware of pool maintenance and what is required.

We are both non smokers ,no illicit drug use,light alcohol.We are both responsible ,honest mature adults, with a good dose of common sense thrown in.
We have previously had police checks performed for our visas /citizenships.

We have lived in Australia for 12yrs, just over 9yrs on the Sunshine coast where we commenced our caravan journey, we are originally from Yorkshire Uk, me (Judy) West Yorkshire a quintessential village called Marsden,Where the Heart is series,Last Of The Summer Wine and Heartbeat all fimed in the village.

Rob, a village Sothall in Sheffield South Yorkshire,he was stationed in Germany whilst serving in the army for the majority of his military career.
We are all Aussie citizens as of a couple yrs ago.

We have always been houseowners in Uk, from aged 21, migrated to Australia in 2012, rented for two years then bought our own beautiful home on the Sunshine coast in 2014,which we currently still own and we are both very house proud.

When we emigrated here in 2012 ...pre children,we applied for a housesit whilst in the Uk and did a 6 week one in Greenbank looking after a one acre property with fruit trees,veggie garden and chickens,with our dog Lucy Jack Russell that we brought with us , she was my little Angel who I walked for miles and miles around Marsden Moor estate,West Yorkshire, and plenty of Queensland beaches , she always came with us on holidays,when we camped all up Qld coast up to Airlie,and Northern NSW coast, she has now sadly now passed away,our cat Alice died before we came to Oz aged 16,she was definitely the boss of Lulu

I have grown up with pets all my life, mainly dogs ,cats ,fish and birds, and I am big animal lover esp dogs and cats, which I always been around till setting off on our journey.

We was lucky enough & grateful that the owners of the first housesit in Greenbank in 2012 asked us to stay on for as long as we needed to, so we wasnt rushing to find a rental, we ended staying with them for another month.

This was the first housesit we did, which was our introduction to housesitting a number of years ago, when we landed in Australia which was problem free apart from an encounter with a brown snake on the property within a few hours of being there…Welcome to Oz ..hahaha!

We looked after the property,caring for the gardens, cutting lawns with a ride on mower, watering fruit trees, veggie gardens, and feeding and caring for the chickens daily, keeping the house generally clean and tidy like we would our own home,clean neat and tidy.

So we have registered on here to see if we can pick up a few housesits along the way around Australia,to help pet owners out ,to care for your pets and home,with a reliable,honest trustworthy animal loving family, accommodation for us to break the routine of caravan parks,a win -win prospect for us all.

We would be respectful, treat your house like we would own and care for your pets like our own,with love and attention, and anything else that was required, we will endeavour to follow the same routines that home owner’s do whilst we care for your home and animals, sending regular updates to owners, as we realise we are entrusted with your fur babies and all your worldly possessions as we have personally had house sitters in the past, and the greatest level of care and love will be provided by us.

On a personal level, we are very friendly christian family, reliable, ethical, responsible, practical, capable, extremely honest, trustworthy,compassionate, and possess a great deal of common sense between us both, My husband is also extremely 'handy' around the house if minor problems should occur .

We will approach pet/home sitting with the same professionalism that we always employed throughout our careers.

While you are away, you can rest assured that no one will have access to your home, property or animals other than us.

Someone will be home during the day ,usually mornings, as my eldest child,, is homeschooled for part of the day,then in an afternoon we normally explore the local area,we love bush walking,and Aussie native wildlife,we will be at home every evening/night and will adhere to all security measures within the house.

Pet/home sitting is a very serious responsibility , you are in someone’s else’s home, caring for their most valuable possessions their beloved animals and home, and is a 'job' to be done to the best of our ability, therefore we will not allow anyone else in your home whilst we are house sitting.

We will be extremely respectful of the house owners privacy within the home, surroundings and we also expect the same in return, we will not enter any rooms off bounds, and would appreciate it if homeowners would 'declare' if they have internal security surveillance cameras operating in their homes,on their Mind a home ads( as per their policy) , or at interview as we have our familys/ childrens privacy to protect .

*We will value your privacy and will never breach it unless we absolutely have to (i.e., there is an emergency). Ie/ electrical meter tripping needing access to an office to reset, this happened at one housesit, it was fully disclosed to the owners on their return.

We do not mind at all, and welcome family/friends of home owners calling around to ensure everything is going ok, if this gives homeowners an added level of peace and security.

We have completed a housesit in July 2023, for a month, in Ingham looking after two fabulous energetic kelpies,taking them daily walks around the sugarcane fields,a beautiful bossy cat (kept the dogs in line) and four chickens,as well as taking care of the gardens,pool and keeping the house spick and span,it was another perfect housesit in every way, a review from the owner has been added to our profile.

Our third housesit in Mossman September 2023 was amazing, two fabulous little sausage doggies,looking after the property and gardens,recent review added to our profile.

We have just completed another housesit in South Australia Mount Barker over the Christmas / NY period,looking after a beautiful Samoyed doggy,home and gardens, the up to date review is on our profile.

All of our recent housesits performed can be contacted via phone if required so you can personally speak with owners.

If we can accommodate a house sit in the area we are travelling up to, and you think we are suitable to your needs, your animals are used to children, and are friendly, non-aggressive, we can be flexible with our dates ,we are not time barred.

I will change areas and states accordingly as we travel.

We have just currently hit WA , Nullabor March 24, and will be exploring around that state for a good few months before heading into the NT.

*Note-Rest assured if we commit to your housesit,that is us fully committed and we will not swop or change anything unless an emergency crops up for either party, but we can only commit to travel to an area, once a formal offer has been sent from the owner and accepted by us
