Hello, and thank you for viewing our profile! We're Thiago (Brazil, 38), Lindsey (US, 33), and Vivian (born in Germany, 3).

Thiago just finished a post-doctorate degree in Germany, and landed a new position as a Lecturer at ANU. We have no friends or relatives in Australia, so we're moving to our new homeland "sight unseen"! We're hoping for a stay that lasts at least a month (perhaps longer) as we find a new, permanent housing situation in Canberra.

Housesitting experience: Before moving to Germany, Thiago and Lindsey completed a two month-long housesit for the head of the political science department at the university where Thiago earned his PhD. Before this, Lindsey housesat for a friend who had horses, dogs, chickens, and a large home on a ranch.

All of us, including Vivian, love animals of all kinds--even reptiles and birds are no problem--and Vivian in particular loves large dogs, so as long as they're OK with a curious but loving toddler, dogs should be fine :).

A bit about us:

Thiago is from Brazil, and a political scientist. He's a jazz aficionado, loves to read, play chess, and watch football, explore nature and new cities with his family, and trying new restaurants with Lindsey. He's a devoted father, and is known among our friends and family as being easygoing and hilarious.

Lindsey is from the US, and is an academic editor and freelance writer. She's interested in sustainability issues, loves gardening, reading, and journaling, exploring the outdoors and local culture, and trying new things with Thiago and Vivian. Lindsey loves meeting new people, and laughing at Thiago's jokes.

Vivian was born in Germany, and loves traveling with mommy and daddy on "da air-pane." She loves animals, Bluey, Daniel Tiger, Paw Patrol, creating new, imaginative games with her toys, and helping mommy in the garden and kitchen. She's a little shy at first, but give her time and gentle attention at her speed, and she'll warm quickly :). Read more...
