About this house sitting position in Lane Cove

We will be away for 6 weeks and looking for a house sitter to look after our home and our much loved, almost 2 year old, English Bulldog, Franklin!
Our home is a stand alone, overlooking Lane Cove Golf course and close to the Lane Cove shopping area with supermarkets, post office, banks small shops and restaurants (1.2km walk). The house is split over 2 floors, with the main bedroom and ensuite plus laundry and another full bathroom on the lower level. The ground floor entrance level has 2 bedrooms, living area, kitchen and main bathroom. This main level leads onto a deck at the back overlooking the back garden and out onto Lane Cove public golf course. The house has a security screen at the front and the back yard is fully fenced and is lockable. Whilst we do not have a carport or garage, there is off street parking.

Our main priority is our dog, Franklin. Whilst he is used to being left at times during the day, he is happiest when people are about. He is not walked regularly (although now trying to get into a routine to change that!) but does love getting out on the golf course. He is well behaved (albeit can be stubborn too!) spooked easily over the most ridiculous things (for the most part, anything he hasn’t seen before or is out of place!) and has the gentlest nature. He is fed twice a day on a mix of dry dog food, fresh mince, sardines (with his breakfast) and a small portion of cooked vegetables (at dinner time). We would aim to leave all food for the duration, frozen in the freezer although if it looks as though it will not all fit, we may have to ask you to buy some towards the end of the stay for which we would leave some money.

Additional duties will include collecting the mail and watering the pot plants, as and when they need it (hopefully enough showers of rain to keep this requirement to a minimum).
We have a regular, fortnightly cleaning service (Friday mornings) which we would leave in place. It does require someone to be home to let them in.
We have some really good neighbours who can be called upon for help in any way and our second son and his family who live about 10 minutes drive away.
There is a bus stop in our street which takes you up to the Lane Cove shops and in the other direction, to North Sydney. In addition, at the Lane Cove shops there are bus stops to other areas (Ryde, Macquarie Park) as well as buses to the city which take about 15 minutes. Read more...
